I heard this verse at church
on the last Sunday of 2012
and it has stayed with me
the entire year...
in fact, I claimed it for 2013.
As I look back on this past year,
I am amazed at the wonders
that God is working in and around us.
I am overwhelmed by His goodness and grace.
I am blessed and
I am tired!
I'm pretty sure I've never been this tired...
but it's a good kind of tired.
We finished our home remodel in a whirlwind (after seven years of working on it...haha;)
We continued to follow an interest led way of learning together as a family.
We completed a home study and foster/adoption training.
And we added a sibling group of three preschoolers to our home...
in other words,
there is no down time here anymore-
not even nap, because there are about a hundred things
I need to try to catch up on while the littles sleep.
fostering and adoption have changed my heart forever.
I will never be the same.
And though I have little free time
and can't even go to the bathroom alone on any given day,
I wouldn't trade one minute of this beautifully busy life
because this experience has taught me so much about God's love for us
and it is the perfect picture of His grace and redemption.
And as I try to hold my eyes open to finish typing this post tonight
I am reminded of these words
from Lam. 3:22-24
Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning.
Great is Your faithfulness,
"The Lord is my portion," says my soul.
"Therefore, I hope in Him!"
Blessings to you in 2014
