Our week has been busy-crazy.
I am so looking forward to a slow week next week!
I did a horrible job of keeping up with what the girls were learning and doing this week...I did an even poorer job of taking pictures.
But the beauty of interest led learning and our relaxed schedule is that it doesn't matter-
I know that my girls were actively engaged
in learning, creating, thinking, and playing every single day.
But here's the recap to the best of my memory;)

Family Feud and also What's the Word? on the Kindle/iPod
Arthurian legends
Piano/piano lessons
Adam of the Road, by Elizabeth Janet Gray
Art
Lots of time on wii fit
Math challenges
Lots of biographies- Queen Elizabeth, Magellan, Jane Goodall, and Ronald Reagan
Eagles- We saw two eagles at our house this week! We could hardly believe it.
Archery
American Tall Tales and Legends
Civil War History
Sign Language, Theater, Choir, and Science classes with our homeschool group
Baking
Art, lettering, drawing
Natural Health- the girls have been helping me learn more about natural remedies (We'll be adding a Natural Health page next week, so check it out!)
American Girl crafts
Business math (cupcake business and egg business:)
Moviemaking
Discovery Toys Think It Through tiles...math, problem
solving, and analogies
Klutz Book of Wacky Inventions
1. Just Plain Nora turned one year old in January! To celebrate, we want to give away five free autographed paperbacks:)  If you want to be entered in a drawing for one, leave a comment or like this post on FB. I'll let the girls draw the winner next Friday (2/8/13).

2. The girls babysit every Tuesday and Thursday for a few hours. They don't get paid for the job, because I want it to be a learning experience for them...a part of our philosophy of life learning. They look forward to playing with the one and two year old siblings every week, and I look forward to sneaking in a little baby love now and then.  Oh, I miss having a baby!
3.  A.'s been taking sign language with our homeschool group. She comes home and teaches M. everything she's learned:)
4. M. found this very cool wordless book about a brave girl doing her part to help a slave to freedom. Beautiful!
5. The birthday girl got a doll craft kit for her American Girl dolls. She's been busy creating all kinds of things for the dolls.
6.-7. A belated little party with friends for M.'s eleventh birthday...complete with cake, chickens, and her new bow set!
8.-9. We used to use these Think It Through Tiles all the time. We were on the road some this week so we brought them along as a fun way to work on some hands-on problem solving.

How was your week?

That "Unspoken" book looks interesting!

Sounds like even though you may not have "kept up" you know about a lot of what was going on and it sounds like a very rich and productive week!

What wonderful photos! It sounds like a really good week. I would love to get a chance to chat with you someday so I can pick your brain as to creating a much more relaxed feel to our homeschool. :-) Your daughters accomplish so much and their happiness shows in every photo.

Jenn, first of all CONGRATS on one year anniversary. How exciting we would love to win an autographed copy. I just love all the things your girls do in a week. They get so much done. Kei and I would LOVE to find a baby to keep once a week. We talk about it all the time. Love that A is taking a sign language class. Kei would like to do that too. M looks like she has such a great birthday. So glad. What a great week!

Sounds like a wonderful week!
Love the idea of you & your girls learning about natural health together...I hope to do that someday (soon!) with my own girlie. AND...archery ~ awesome!
I'd love to be entered into your giveaway, but we already have a copy:) I ordered one for my daughter's stocking this Christmas, and she *loved* it! She has asked a few times when the next one will be ready, lol ;-)
Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Collette!
We just signed up for archery lessons, so we can all learn together as a family. I think I am as excited as the girls are.

I'm so happy your daughter liked Nora!
The target date for the second book was Jan. 2013, but I got really behind with Dad's illness and passing. Lately, though I feel inspired to finish it! We have a quiet week this week, so I plan to do some writing:)

I have been searching for a sign-lanugage class for my girls. I know how hard a foreign language is to learn, especially if you do not live in a bi-lingual home. I think sign language is not only useful, it would be fun to learn!

I sounds like a great week to me. I love all of the biographies you all are reading. I love to learn that way.

Even though you say you didn't keep up, you still remembered a lot! You all were super busy!
The "Unspoken" book sounds like it would be a good one. I think I'll see if I can get that from the library.
The baby is SO cute :)
