Thankful for the rain this week, because it left so many signs of spring behind.
We found a nest in the forsythia that's blooming out front:) The girls took photos at The Old Mill in North Little Rock. So grateful that they had time to enjoy the outdoors with my mom while I got to visit with dad. After another rough week, we are blessed to see some improvement in his health over the last couple of days!!
So thankful for friends and family. These kiddos know how to amuse themselves- from art to indoor basketball to an impromptu talk show performance!  We loved these architectural blocks that belong to my friend's son. A. could have played with these Keva Planks for hours. Absolutely one of our favorite resources this week! Though they are a little on the expensive side, these American made planks are something I doubt the girls would ever outgrow. Definitely something I'll keep in mind for future birthdays or Christmas.
I love living history and was so appreciative of the opportunity to experience life on an 1,800 acre working cotton plantation. The kids learned about the difference between farming cotton then and now, history of the area, early homes and buildings,  the invention of the cotton gin, sharecropping, and the history of slavery in the South. It was a hands-on learning experience that they aren't likely to forget!
We also toured the impressive Stanton Hall,  a beautiful 14,000 square foot antebellum home in Natchez, MS.  An amazing week for sure...so much fun, but I'm so glad to be back home!

We had rain today--I love it and am so thankful for it. Your trip to Stanton Hall looks like it was enjoyable. I also have enjoyed reading about your trips to all the Little House sites. I've visited the Home Site and hope to visit all of them eventually.

Visiting the Little House sites was fantastic, and the girls were just the right age to soak it all in:) One day, I would love to take them to New York to see the Wilder farm where Almanzo grew up. We'll make it that way eventually...

Great fun! Love living history here, too. And those planks? Super cool AND American made...how awesome is that? Always nice to find those "toys" that you can see the kids using...and using...and still using as they grow... :)

I love any "toy" that fosters creative and independent thinking...especially if it's one that the adults want to "play" as badly as the children:)

We bought the girls Keva blocks for Christmas--and we all love them! There are less expensive ones that are EXACTLY the same--we ended up buying one of these sets so we could make a bigger tower and they are about half the price and no one can tell which is Keva and which is a Citiblock. There are also Kapla blocks which are basically the same thing and they have a cool book on making marble mazes. We LOVE our Keva and Citiblocs!!

Thank you for linking with Thankful Thursday :)

These photos are so great! What an awesome week :)
The Keva planks look very cool...exactly like something my girls would LOVE! I think they need to go on a wish list. Thanks for sharing with Favorite Resources!!

The Keva planks do look awesome. I am going to look for the less expensive ones that Theresa suggested.

That old Mill is gorgeous! I would love to go there. And the plantation is also. What a great week of hands on learning. Isn't that the best kind? So you were in Mississippi? That is near us sorta. :)

How exciting to have a nest to observe! Now that I'm conscious of the birds through study and counting, I cannot believe how much I've missed witnessing throughout the years! I'm hooked on birds! The KEVA planks look fabulous! Thank you for providing the link - my son is inventive with his hands so I'll look into these! The plantation sounds wonderful - I too love living history. Keeping my fingers crossed that we may return home and visit Monticello and Jefferson' gardens :) Keeping your dad and mom in my thoughts.

I love to watch the birds too! I have binoculars and bird books in my kitchen by the window that overlooks the backyard and pasture:)

I want to visit Monticello too. We drove right by it last year when we were going on vacation, but we didn't have time to stop:( Maybe next time.,,I bet it's beautiful!

We were in Natchez over the weekend for the Natchez Powwow. It is a beautiful little town. I hope to go back an tour some of the antebellum homes. It looks like you had a great time.
